Banana Bread-with Butter

Ingredients

  • 2-3 large ripe bananas, peeled
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted and cooled a bit
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts-optional

Preparation

Step 1

350 degrees for 50 minutes to one hour.

In a mixing bowl, beat bananas until smooth. Add melted butter and mix completely.

Mix in baking soda and salt. Slowly add in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla until incorporated.

Mix in flour until well blended. Add nuts if using.

Pour into well greased loaf pan (4 X 8). Bake until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove from oven and cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then remove bread from pan to a wire rack to completely cool.

Slice with a serrated knife and enjoy!
