Ingredients

    1/2 cups white sugar

  • 1 1

    1 cup water

  • 2 2

    2 Tbsp crisco

  • 1/2 1/2

    1/2 box white raisins

  • 1 1

    1 tsp nutmeg

  • 1 1

    1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 1

    1 tsp cloves

  • 1 1

    1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 1

    1 cup water

  • 3 3

    3 cups flour

  • 1 1

    container 1 small container of fruit cake mix

  • 1 1

    1 cup walnuts

  • walnuts and cherries for topping.

Directions

Boil the first set of ingredients for 5 minutes. While that is cooling, mix the baking soda and water. Mix flour, cake mix, and walnuts in a separate bowl. Add the baking soda water to the boiled ingredients. Mix the wet and dry ingredients together. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans. Place more nuts and whole cherries on top. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Turn oven down to 325 for an additional 1/2 hour.
