Pulled Pork - Shirley Style

Ingredients

  • 5 5 5 lb pork shoulder
  • 1 1 1 tbsp each garlic powder, onion powder, salt & brown sugar
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 tbsp pepper
  • 2 2 2 tbsp paprika
  • 2 2 2 dashes liquid smoke
  • 1 1 1 jar mustard BBQ
  • 1 1 1 jar honey BBQ

Preparation

Step 1

Mix all ingredients together-except honey BBQ, and marinate pork shoulder in a plastic bag overnight in the refrigerator.

The next day, remove from refrigerator and bring to room temperature. Brown on all sides in a Dutch oven. Place pot in the oven and cook for 2 hours in a 350 degree oven-uncovered. Reduce temperature to 250 degrees-cover and cook for another 4 hours.

Remove pork from the oven and let the meat rest for awhile. Using two forks, shred the meat and return to the pot. Stir in the honey BBQ sauce and let it sit a little longer so all the flavors blend.

Serve on Hawaiian rolls with cole slaw.
