Turkey - Turkey Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs lean ground turkey or chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 red pepper diced
  • 2 carrots peeling and grated
  • 1 - 8 ounce can water chestnuts chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, mashed
  • 4 green onions chopped
  • 1 lg or 2 small heads of iceberg lettuce
  • Asian Sauce
  • 3/4 cup hoisen sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp liquid honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 small garlic clove mashed
  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • Add steam fried noodles to each wrap (asian section) for an extra crunch

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet brown the meat with the chopped onion. When the meat is not longer pink, drain fat and add peppers.

Cook 1 min add carrots, water chestnuts, garlic and green onion cook 1 - 2 min more.

Mix sauce ingredients together and heat in a small saucepan on the stove. Stir in enough sauce into the meat to coat lightly...(1/4 - 1/2)

Core letucces slice in half and seperate the leaves. Wash well and pile in a bowl.
