Mixed Berry Pie Filling + Hand Pie recipe

I mashed the berries. Itmade a good filling but I would suggest to add at least aone box of fresh berries to the mix before maing the crisp.

Ingredients

  • 8 8 8 cups crushed berries
  • 2 1/2 2 1/2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 2 2 cups water
  • 3/4 3/4 3/4 cup Clear Jel
  • 1 1 1 Tbsp. fresh grated ginger
  • 1 1 1 tea., cinnamon
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 tea. nutmeg
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 tea. cloves
  • 1/4 1/4 1/4 tea. salt
  • 1/2 1/2 1/2 cup orange juice
  • HAND PIES
  • to 400 to 400 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • 15 9 for 15 minutes or until golden. Cool. Makes 9 hand pies.

Preparation

Step 1

Combine berries, sugar, Clearjel, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt. Stir in the 2 cups water. Cook over medium high heat until mixture begins to bubble, stirring constantly. Stir in orange juice. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Immediately add the orange juice.

Pack into hot sterilized pint jar. Wipe rims, adjust lids and screw bands.

Process for 30 minutes in a hot water bath.
