Ingredients

  • 1 stick 1 stick butter at room temperature (1/2 cup)
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 - 1 cup 1/2 - 1 cup M & M candies

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In the bowl of a standing mixer, or a large mixing bowl using a hand mixer, combine the butter, oil, sugar, egg, and vanilla.

Combine the flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl.

Add it in 2 increments to the butter/sugar mixture.

Mix well.

Put in a 9 x 9 inch prepared baking pan and press to the sides.

Sprinkle M & M's generously, pushing them gently into the dough.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

Watch closely at the end. Cake should be a light, golden brown when done.

Cool completely. Cut into pieces and serve.
