  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cup nuts

Step 1

Line cookie sheet with foil; butter foil. In 3-qt saucepan heat 1 c. Sugar,1/3 c. Water, and 1/4 c. Light corn syrup to boiling on medium- high, stirring. Cook until amber. Stir in 2 Tbsp. Butter. Stir in 1/2 tsp. Baking soda. Remove from heat. Quickly stir in 1 1/2 c. Nuts. Immediately pour onto cookie sheet; spread into thin layer. Cool; break into 1 1/2- inch pieces. Makes about 1 lb.
