Ingredients
- st Part:
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 (8oz) pkg. cream cheese
- 2 (1 lb) boxes powdered sugar
- ¼ cup warm water
- 8 Squares (1 oz) German Chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- nd Part:
- ¼ cup butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 ½ cups flour, sifted
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
1st Part:
• Combine butter, cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large bowl
• In a saucepan, combine water and chocolate and cook over medium heat until blended
• Pour chocolate into cream mixture
• Add vanilla and beat until light and fluffy
• Take out 3 cups, cover and use this for frosting
2nd Part:
• Add butter to remaining cheese mixture and cream well
• Add eggs one at a time
• Sift dry ingredients and add alternately to creamed mixture with buttermilk
• Bake in 3 9” round pans at 350 degrees for 20-30 min
• Cool and frost
