Ingredients
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 C. Steen's Pure Cane Syrup
- 2 2 2 eggs (divided)
- 2 2 2 C. flour
- 1 1/4 1 1/4 1/4 C. milk
- 3 3 3 t. baking powder
- 6 6 6 T. melted shortening or salad oil
- 1/2 1/2 1/2 t. salt
- 2 2 2 egg whites

Step 1
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Separate eggs, and beat yolks; add milk and syrup to beaten egg yolks; stir in melted shortening or salad oil. Stir this mixture gradually into dry ingredients and mix well. Beat egg whites and fold into batter. Bake in hot waffle iron until golden brown.
