Ingredients
- 1 cup Butter, divided
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3 cups Oatmeal
- 1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 teaspoons vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
1. Set aside 2T. butter.
In a large mixing bowl beat remaining butter with a mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar and beat till well mixed. Beat in eggs and 2 t. vanilla. In another large bowl, stir together flour and soda. Stir in oats. Gradually stir dry mixture into beaten mixture. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine the reserved butter, sweetened condensed milk and chocolate pieces. Cook over low heat till chocolate melts, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in nuts and 2 t. vanilla.
3. Press 2/3rds of the oat mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 15x10 baking pan. Spread chocolate mixture over the oat mixture. Using your fingers, dot the remaining oat mixture over the chocolate. Bake 350F about 25 minutes or until the top is lightly browned. (chocolate will look moist. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into 2x1 inch bars.
