Ingredients
- 2 cans (21 oz) apple pie filling
- 1 lemon
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pck plain yellow cake mix
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 cup melted butter
Preparation
Step 1
Spoon apple pie filling evenly into ungreased 13 X 9 cake pan. Grate rind from lemon over filling, cut lemon in half and pour juice over filling. Sprinkle with half the cinnamon. Pour dry cake mix evenly over apples so it reaches all sides of pan. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon and then walnuts over the top. Drizzle melted butter over entire pan. Bake 350 degrees for 55 minutes. Serve with ice cream if desired.
