Jarrett House Vinegar Pie, GF

An old Southern recipe. Flour may be reduced to 1 Tbs. per another recipe version that appeared in Southern Living magazine.

Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
  • 1 ⁄2 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons flour Use GFJules
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shells Use GF pie shell

Preparation

Step 1

Beat sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, and vinegar together on high for 1 minute until smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture into pie shell.
Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes or until top forms a pale golden crust (inside will be slightly liquid).
Cool and serve at room temperature.
