Lentil Burgers

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked lentils
  • 1 cup soft whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp oil

Preparation

Step 1

Mash cooked lentils, slightly. Stir in bread crumbs, wheat germ, onion, salt, eggs and worcestershire. Form into six 3 1/2 inch patties, using 1/2 cup lentil mixture for each.

Heat oil in large skillet. Cook patties until golden brown on both sides, about 5 minutes. Serve in whole what pita breads, if desired
