Ingredients

  • 1/2 c butter, softened
  • 1 c plus 2 T sugar, divided
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 c all purpose flour
  • 1/4 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t cream of tartar
  • 1 t ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

In LG bowl, cream butter & 1 c sugar until light & fluffy. Beat in egg & vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda & cream of tartar; gradually add to the creamed mixture & mix well. In sm bowl, combine cinnamon & remaining sugar.

Shape dough into 1 in. balls; roll in cinnamon-sugar. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 for 10-12 min. until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
