Fireside T-Bone Steaks

  • 4

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 tsp. Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp. finely chopped garlic
  • 1 ½ tsp. finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • ¾ tsp. dried thyme
  • 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
  • ½ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large sweet onions
  • 4 (12- to 14-oz.) T-bone steaks
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Garnishes: fresh rosemary sprigs, fresh thyme sprigs

Preparation

Step 1

Stir together olive oil and next 8 ingredients in a small bowl; set aside.

Cut onions into ½-in. slices; brush with oil mixture. Cook onions in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat 2 minutes on each side or until lightly browned. Arrange slices in a single layer on a platter; brush tops with oil mixture. Reserve remaining mixture. Cover onions; chill at least 1 hour. (This can be done up to 24 hours before serving.)

Preheat grill to 350° to 400°.

Brush both sides of steaks with oil mixture. Grill steaks, covered with grill lid, 4 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Remove steaks from grill; let rest 5 minutes. Grill onion slices 1 minute on each side. Salt and pepper steak and onions to taste. Garnish if desired. Serve immediately.
