Mozzarella Spaghetti Pie

This recipe is from an old St. Mary's Catholic Church cookbook. St. Mary's is located in Worthington, MN
Ingredients
- 8 oz. spaghetti noodles
- 2 T. melted butter
- 1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 lb. hamburger
- Onion, to taste
- 26 oz. can spaghetti sauce
- 1 t. sugar
- 1/2 t. oregano
- 1/2 t. garlic salt
- 1 c. cottage cheese
- 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese

Step 1
Break spaghetti into 2 inch pieces.
Cook spaghetti until done.
Drain.
Spray 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray and put cooked spaghetti on bottom of pan.
Mix this into the spaghetti noodles to form "crust."
Brown hamburger and onion.
Mix in spaghetti sauce, sugar, oregano, garlic salt.
Spread cottage cheese over noodle mixture.
Put meat sauce over cottage cheese.
Bake at 30 for 30 minutes, uncovered.
Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
