  • 15 cups popcorn, air popped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup light Karo syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Step 1

1. Spray Pam inside a large brown paper grocery bag. Make sure bag is well
coated with Pam. Place popped corn in bag and set aside.

2. In microwave, melt butter in 2 qt. baking dish. Add sugar, syrup and
salt. Cook in microwave 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave for 3 additional more
minutes. Add soda, stir.

3. Pour syrup mixture over popped corn in bag. Shake. Microwave on high 1½
minute. Shake again, microwave 1 minute and 20 seconds. Shake again; pour
on large buttered cookie sheet to cool.

4. When completely cool put in air tight container.

Comments: Great carmel corn without all the fuss or mess.
