Ingredients
- 1 cake yeast
- 1/2 cup lukewarm milk
- 1 lb. flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 5 TBSP melted butter
- 1 egg beater
- 1 cup raisins (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk, sift flour, salt & sugar into a bowl, make well in center and add eggs, egg yolks, sour cream & yeast mixture.
Mix and knead until dough 'blisters' and is not sticky.
Add melted butter and knead again for 5 mins.
Set aside to rise in a warm place. When doubled in bulk, punch down and knead again 2-3 mins.
Let stand 30 mins. turn out onto floured board and cut into 3 pieces.
