Ingredients
- 4 small golden delicious apples, cored, pared, and cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
- 1/3 cup plus 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon double-acting baking powder
- 2 tablespoons margarine
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degree f. In medium bowl combine apple slices, 1 tablespoon sugar, the raisins, lemon juice, and 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon. Transfer to 1-quart casserole; set aside. Into small bowl sift together flour, baking powder, and remaining 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon; add remaining 2 tablespoons sugar and stir to combine. With pastry blender, or 2 knives used scissors-fashion, cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle flour mixture over apples and bake until apples are tender, about 35 minutes.
