Chocolate Brownie Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. 14 oz. Caramels
  • 2/3 cup undiluted milk (divided)
  • 1 pkg. 18 1/2 oz. German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 pkg. 6 oz. Chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

In double boiler melt caramels with 1/3 cup milk. Meanwhile, combine cake mix, margarine, nuts and remaining 1/3 cup milk. Mix until all ingredients moistened. Spoon ½ mixture in 9 x 13 greased pan. Bake 6 minutes at 350 degree. Remove pan from oven and sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips. Spoon caramel mixture over chocolate chips. Then spoon remaining mixture over the topping. Return to oven, bake 12-18 minutes longer at 350 degrees until puffed and edges start to leave pan.
