Death By Chocolate
From Mom's recipe card (from Nan I think)
Make a day ahead of time. Fits 3 1/2 quart trifle bowl, use 2 boxes of mousse for each mousse layer.
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plain- not with pudding in mix)
- 1 cup Kahlua
- 2 boxes jello mousse mix (3.5 oz size)
- 10 Skor candy bars
- 8 oz Cool Whip or regular whipping cream
Bake cake as directed in a 9 x 13 pan. Cool completely. Poke holes in cake when cool and pour 1 cup Kahlua over it.
Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight.
Cut cake in half. In large bowl, break up 1/2 the cake and add 4 chopped up Skor bars. Mix well and pack into trifle bowl.
Make 1 box mousse as directed on package and pour over cake. Chill 10 minutes to set. Cover with layer of Cool Whip approximately 1/2 inch thick. Chill while breaking up remaining cake and Skor bars.
Add remaining cake to trifle bowl.
Make 2nd box mousse; pour over cake. Chill 10 minutes. Add Cool Whip on top.
Sprinkle with 2 broken Skor bars or chocolate shavings. Chill until served.
