Savory Southwest Strip Steaks

By

I got this recipe from "First for Women" Magazine. There should be onions on top of the steak but this is the only picture I could find on google images.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp minced assorted fresh herbs, like parsley, thyme and oregano
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp Southwest seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, divided
  • 4 boneless beef strip steaks (about 6 oz each), trimmed
  • 2 lg yellow onions, sliced

Preparation

Step 1

1.) In a small bowl, combine Dijon mustard, minced assorted fresh herbs, minced garlic, Southwest seasoning and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce until blended.

2.) Season steaks with salt and pepper. Brush mustard mixture evenly over both sides of steaks.

3.) In a large skillet coated with nonstick cooking spray over medium heat, cook steaks, in batches, 8 min. or until desired doneness, turning once. Transfer steaks to serving platter or cutting board; keep warm.

4.) In same greased skillet over medium heat, cook yellow onions and 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 4 minutes or until onions are golden brown and tender, stirring frequently. Serve steaks topped with onions. Garnish as desired.
