Mom's Meatball Casserole

Ingredients

  • Meatballs
  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 egg slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp dried mustard
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 c boiling cube
  • 1/4 c flour
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 12 oz pkg medium egg noodles
  • 10 oz can onion soup
  • 2 cans OR 2 bottles spaghetti sauce 14 or 16 oz(450 ml)
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 16 oz cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in large heavy skillet. Add meatballs and brown well on all sides
Return to skillet
Cook noodles while meatballs are browning. Drain.
Add onion soup, spaghetti sauce and oregano to browned meatballs and bring to a boil. Remove from heat
Heat oven to 350. Grease 2 1 1/2 casseroles
Put 1/4 of the noodles in each casserole. Add 1/4 meatballs mixture then dot with cottage cheese and sprinkle with 1/4 cheese.
Repeat layers
Bake for about 30 minutes
Serves 4
