By

A rosette is a thin, cookie-like deep-fried pastry of Scandinavian origin. Rosettes are traditionally made during Christmas time. They are made using intricately designed irons that kind of resemble snowflakes. Enjoy!

Preparation

Step 1

In deep medium bowl whisk sugar, salt and eggs together add oil, milk and flour until smooth. Using a smaller size of bottom of bowl is easier for dipping in.

I used a fry daddy and put oil 2 inches deep, it kept it at the right temperature 375-400°F. Put iron in the oil to get it hot before dipping into batter shake off excess oil on a paper towel. Don't go over the top of the iron with the batter, fry about 30 seconds or until golden brown.

I shook the rosettes off the iron while frying. Or you can use a knife to loosen them while frying. it might fall off on its own also
remove from oil with tongs our slotted large spoon shake off oil.

Put them on a paper towel on a cooling rack when cool sprinkle with powder sugar or before serving.
