Ingredients
- 1-2 pounds deer meat, cut into small cubes
- 3 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 carrots, sliced
- 1 large potato, peeled and cubed
- 1 can beef broth
- 1 can petite diced tomatoes
- 1 soup can water
- 1 tomato can water
- 1 can mushrooms (optional)
- 3 bay leaves
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- salt and pepper to taste
- (optional: during last 20 minutes, add 1 cup barley)
Preparation
Step 1
Brown meat in a little oil. Add onions and carrots, stirring about 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients (except barley) and bring to boil. Cover and simmer about 2 hours, until meat and veggies are tender.
