Gooie Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 6oz package caramels
  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 package German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup oleo melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter extract
  • 1 cup nuts chopped
  • 1 6oz package chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

In a double boiler melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk
In a mixing bowl combine cake mix, oleo, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, vanilla, butter extract and nuts
Mix well
Put 2/3 of mixture in a 9 X 13 pan
Cook for 6 minutes at 350*
Take out of oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top
Pour on caramel mixture
Crumble the rest of raw batter on top of caramel
bake for 16 minutes
