Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine at room temp
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsps vanilla
  • 1 TBLSP water
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups (8 oz) pecan halves, chopped fine.
  • Decoration - cherry fruit rolls, cur in 1/8 inch wide strips

Preparation

Step 1

1) Heat oven to 350 degrees. Have cookie sheets ready.
2) Beat butter, 1/4 cup sugar, the salt, vanilla and water in a large bowl with electric mixer until fluffy.
3) Stir in flour and nuts until blended.
4) Shape rounded tsps ful into logs about 1 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch in diameter.
5) Place 1/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
6) Bake 12 to 15 minutes until bottoms are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool completey.
7) Roll in the remaining confectioners sugar to coat, then decorate with a ribbon of fruit roll strip around log and press gently so it sticks to itself. Loop another strip to form a bow; press in place (Bows take time and patience) Just before serving, dip bottom of package in confectionsers sugar to it doesn't stick to the plate
