Ingredients
- MEATBALLS
- 1 package (1 1/3 pounds) Kirkland Signature organic ground beef
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 TBSP finely chopped shallots
- 1-2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp of dried oregano
- 2 TBSP canola oil
- PASTRY
- 2 packages (4 sheets) frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 4 TBSP Dijon mustard
- 6 slices swiss cheese, quartered
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare meatballs: Combine all meatball ingredients, except oil. Form into 24 equal-size balls. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute meatballs until cooked throughout, about 7 minutes, turning during cooking. Remove from pan to cool.
Prepare pastry: Place 1 sheet of puff pastry on a baking sheet. Spread 2 TBSP mustard on pastry, then evenly space 12 meatballs on top. Top each meatball with a piece of cheese. Place a second sheet of puff pastry on top of the meatballs. Press down around each meatball. Cut a square around each. Crimp all edges. Repeat process with remaining puff pastry to make 24 total pastries. Bake according to pastry instructions.
