Chocolate-Chunk Macaroons

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 2 Large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup Semisweet chocolate chunks
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

Step 1

1. Heat oven to 350°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine sugar, coconut, egg whites, chocolate chunks, vanilla, and salt. Using your hands, mix well, completely Combining ingredients.

3. Dampen hands with cold water. Form 1 1/2 tablespoons of mixture into a loose haystack shape; place on prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining mixture, spacing about 1 inch apart.

4. Bake until golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes. Transfer baking sheets to a wire rack to cool. Leave in a warm place 1 hour allowing chocolate to soften.

Store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
