Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter flavored crisco
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups Quaker Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • Granulated sugar

Step 1

Beat first three ingredients until creamy. Beat in water, egg, and vanilla. Add combined ingredients; mix well. Cover; chill about 2 hours. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with tines of fork dipped in granulated sugar to form crisscross pattern. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered
