Ingredients

  • DRY:
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoons banking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 to 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • WET:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 to 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Mix dry ingredients together in a small bowl and set aside.

Mix butter and sugars together till smooth and fluffy add egg and vanilla add one tablespoon of milk
slowly mix in dry ingredients until well combined.

If dough is too dry add a tablespoon of milk at a time till it is no longer crumbly and can form a ball
put into a baggie and refrigerate at least 2 hours overnight is better.

Take out of fridge and let sit for a few minutes on countertop.

Roll out in powdered sugar not flour. (makes the edges stay crisp and no heavy flour flavor)
bake for 8 to 15 min (depending on size and thickness) till edges are just starting to brown.
