Ingredients

  • TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup Crisco, butter flavored
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tarter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream butter, shortening, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

I use a melon baller to form cookies. Drop into cinnamon-sugar mixture and roll. Place on ungreased cookie sheet & flatten slightly.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cookies will be just barely turning light brown. Do not over bake! This keeps them soft! Cool on racks.
