Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 c. water
- 1/2 c. Frank's Red Hot original sauce
- 4 c. flour
- 2 t. pepper
- 2 t. paprika
- 1 t. cayenne pepper
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 1 t. salt
- 1 t. pepper
- 1 t. garlic powder
- Chicken
- Vegetable oil for frying
Preparation
Step 1
For Chicken strips or patties, pound chicken breasts with meat hammer until 1/4 inch thick, cut up, and place in buttermilk marinade.
Place cut-up chicken in large bowl or ziplock with buttermilk (add more Frank's Red Hot original sauce & spices as you wish -- additional to what are listed in ingredients) cover & refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
In dipping bowl, add eggs, water & pepper sauce.
In large zip lock add flour & spices.
Remove chicken from buttermilk, sprinkle with salt, pepper, & garlic powder.
Place chicken pieces in flour bag. Shake to coat.
Remove chicken pieces one at a time from flour, dip in egg mixture, & return to flour bag to coat evenly.
Heat oil to 350.
Fry in groups for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown. Turn occasionally.
For flattened chicken, it takes much less time!
