Pork Chop and Wine Bake

Ingredients

  • •2 to 4 pork chops, 1-inch thick
  • •1/4 teaspoon salt
  • •1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • •1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • •1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • •1/8 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • •1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary, crumbled
  • •1/2 cup white wine
  • •1/4 cup chicken broth or water

Preparation

Step 1

Rinse pork chops under cold water; pat dry with paper towels. Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper; dredge in flour. Add vegetable oil to a heavy skillet over medium heat. Brown pork chops on both sides; remove to a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish or roasting pan. Cover with sliced onion. Combine thyme and rosemary with wine and water or chicken broth; pour over pork chops. Cover and bake at 350° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until fork tender.
