Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups diced rhubarb
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup milk

Preparation

Step 1

1) Cream sugar & shortening.
2) Add egg and vanilla.
3) Sift flour & spices, baking powder & soda.
4) Stir into creamed mixture.
5) Add rhubarb & milk.
6) Pour into an 8 or 9 inch square greased pan.
7) Bake at 350 degrees in a preheated oven for 60-70 minutes.
