Stawberry almond crumble

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups fresh stawberries, halved
  • 1 Large Macintosh apple, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 Cup granulated sugar
  • 2 T A/P Flour
  • Crumb Topping
  • 1/2 Cup A/P Flour
  • 1/2 Cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 Cup sliced almonds (optional)
  • 1/4 t nutmeg
  • 1/4 Cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 T butter

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350

In a large bowl combine strawbertties, apple, granulated sugar, vanilla and 2 T flour, mix well.

Pread into a shallow 2 1/2 quart baking dish and set asside

Topping

In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats almonds, nutmeg and brown sugar. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut butter into topping until a coarse crumb forms. Sprinkle crumb topping evenly over fruit mixture and bake until topping is lighly browned, about 25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes before serving.
