Ingredients
- CAKE:
- 1 stick butter
- 1 1/2 C. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 C. flour
- 1 C. buttermilk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 C. sliced rhubarb
- 1 C. brown sugar
- 1 C. chopped pecans
- SAUCE:
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 C. evaporated milk
- 1 C. sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Preparation
Step 1
Cream butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add next 6 ingredients and then stir in rhubarb. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch glass dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar and pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Combine all the sauce ingredients together in saucepan and cook over low heat until sugar dissolves. Let cake cool for about 10 mins and then pour sauce over top of cake. Serve warm. Makes 12-15 servings.
