Akilah's Roasted Honey Ginger BBQ Wings with Twice Baked Yams

Ingredients

  • For the Glaze:
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Sweet and Smoky Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Juice
  • For the Chicken Wings:
  • 1 pound Chicken Party Wings
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • Coconut Oil
  • For the Twice Baked Yams with Cinnamon Sugar Butter:
  • 2 Medium Yams
  • 3 tablespoons Butter (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons Brown Sugar

instructions Preheat oven to 375°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicon mat.

ingredients 1/3 cup Honey
2 tablespoons Sweet and Smoky Barbecue Sauce
1 teaspoon Ginger (minced)
1 teaspoon Ginger Juice

instructions For the Glaze: Prepare glaze by mixing all its ingredients together.

ingredients 1 pound Chicken Party Wings
Coconut Oil
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
2 cloves Garlic (minced)

instructions For the Chicken Wings: Coat chicken with coconut oil. Season your wings with the salt, pepper and garlic. Arrange chicken on the prepared baking sheet without overlapping the pieces. Roast in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

instructions Remove chicken from oven, and brush with 1/2 of glaze mixture. Place chicken back in oven for 10 minutes. Remove and serve. Tip: Use the rest of the glaze to your liking.

instructions For the Twice Baked Yams with Cinnamon Sugar Butter: Preheat oven to 400°. Bake Yams on a baking sheet in the oven for one hour.

ingredients 3 tablespoons Butter (softened)
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
4 tablespoons Brown Sugar

instructions Mix the remaining ingredients to make your cinnamon sugar butter.

instructions Remove yams from oven and let rest until cool enough to handle. Cut each yam in half and score the flesh with a knife. Spread cinnamon sugar butter over each yam half. Place yams back in oven until butter has melted and the sugar has caramelized. Remove from the oven and serve alongside wings.
