Ingredients

  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 8 oz. Jar Applesauce
  • 1/3 c. Salad oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. Milk
  • 2 c. Flour, all-purpose
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon, set half aside
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 c. Chopped nuts, divided
  • 1/4 c. Brown Sugar, firmly packed

Preparation

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine 1 c. sugar, appleausce, oil, eggs & milk; mix well.

In another bowl, combine flour, bakeing soda, baking powder, salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon & nutmeg; add this to sugar mixture, mxing well.

Stir in 3/4 c. nuts. Spoon batter into a greased 9 1/4" x 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" loaf pan.

Combine brown sugar, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon & 1/4 c. nuts; sprinkle this over the batter.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr; cover loosely with aluminum foil the last 30 mins of baking. Cool on wire rack.
