Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • Cheese Filling:
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Apple Topping:
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 cups apple slices (peeled)
  • 1/4 cup almonds (sliced)

Preparation

Step 1

Crust – cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough onto bottom and sides of 9 inch spring form pan.

Cheese filling – combine softened cream cheese and sugar; mix well. Blend in egg and vanilla. Pour onto pastry lined pan.

Apple Topping – Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mixture. Spoon mixture over cream cheese layer; sprinkle with almonds.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees; continue baking for 25 minutes. Cool before removing rim of pan.
