Favorite Butter Cookies

Keep costs down by baking this easy-to-make butter cookie using common cookie ingredients. Everyone will love to decorate and taste this cookie.

Ingredients

• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
• 1 large Land O Lakes® Egg
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• Decorator sugars
• Doubled Recipe******
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
• 2 large Land O Lakes® Eggs
• 3 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• Decorator sugars

Preparation

Step 1

1.Heat oven to 400°F.

2.Combine sugar, butter and egg in bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed. Add all remaining ingredients except decorator sugar; beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.

3.Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Sprinkle with decorator sugars. Bake 6-8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
