Ingredients

  • Cake:

  • 3

    cups cake flour

  • 2

    tbsp baking powder

  • 1

    cup softened butter

  • ½

    cup sour cream

  • cups granulated sugar

  • 6

    egg whites

  • cups heavy cream

  • Frosting:

  • 6

    cups powdered sugar

  • 1

    stick butter

  • 1

    cup sour cream

  • ½

    tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour 4 round cake pans. Sift flour and baking soda into large bowl. Add softened butter, sugar, egg whites, sour cream and heavy cream. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Divide mixture into pans and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until tops brown and spring back to touch. Cool on rack. For frosting, in a mixing bowl, add softened butter, sour cream, powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
