Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
  • 1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 tblsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp grated lemon zest
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 3/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375. Place pastry sheet between sheets of plastic wrap and roll into a 10x1 inch rectangle. Use plastic wrap to transfer dough to a nonstick 14x17 inch baking sheet; remove plastic wrap.

Beat cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and almond extract in a medium bowl until fluffy. Spread cream cheese mixture over pastry to within 3 inches of long edges. Sprinkle almonds over cream cheese mixture. Use a knife to make 2 inch long cuts one inch apart along edges.

Bake 28-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
