Ingredients
- 1 cup margarine/butter
- 2 cups flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup cold water
- 1 lb. (1 cup) almond paste
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 2 eggs and 1 egg yolk (save the white)
Preparation
Step 1
1. Mix together the margarine, flour, salt and water.
2. Chill in a bowl overnight in refrigerator.
3. Make a paste of the remaining ingredients.
4. Chill paste overnight in refrigerator.
5. Next morning, roll dough into six strips (approximately 12 inches long and 3 inches wide).
6. Fill each with almond paste.
7. Roll together and prick with folk.
8. Brush with beaten egg white.
9. Put on greased cookie sheet.
10. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes
