Vick's Shepherds Pie

Vick's Shepherd's Pie is a quick and easy one casserole dinner that uses up left over mashed potatoes. If you don't have any leftovers, you can buy some premade ones at the store.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 can peas, drained
  • 4 slices cheese, of your choice
  • Left over mashed potatoes, at least 2 cups, but can be more.
  • A little milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon cream cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parsley, for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

In a medium size saute pan, brown hamburger meat with onion powder, garlic powder, chopped onion. Add 1/2 can of cheese soup. Put the meat mixture in the bottom of a 8x8 glass dish.

Put peas on top on top of the meat mixture. Then put 4 slices of cheese on top.

Add 1 egg yolk, a little milk and cream cheese to mashed potatoes. Salt and pepper, to taste. Add the potatoes on top of the cheese layer. Sprinkle with parsley.

Bake 30 minutes at 350°F.

Put on Broil for 5 minutes to brown the potatoes.
