Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak
By kathya5084
I prepared the patties and sliced the onion the night before and stored them in the fridge in air tight containers. The next morning I browned the patties, made the sauce and assembled the dish.

Ingredients
- Beef Patties
- 2 pounds ground beefextra lean
- 1/2 cup seasoned italian breadcrumbs
- 1 whole egg
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- Gravy
- 8 ounces (2 cups) sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion thinly sliced
- 1 envelope Recipe Secrets Onion Soup Mix
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef stock
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar glaze (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Patties
Mix all patty ingredients, except ground beef, in a medium bowl until combined. Add the ground beef and mix together with your hands until evenly distributed.
Form hamburger mixture into 6 uniformly shaped patties about 1/2 inch thick. (I used a small round plastic container lid).
In a large non-stick skillet or multi cooker, brown patties on medium-high heat for about 2 – 3 minutes on each side.
If using skillet, transfer browned hamburger patties to the slow cooker.
Mushroom & Onion Gravy
Place sliced mushrooms and sliced onions over the top of the beef patties in the slow cooker.
Add the rest of the gravy ingredients, in a small bowl and whisk until the flour is dissolved.
Pour gravy mixture over beef patties, onion and mushrooms in the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours.
Serve with mashed potatoes, cooked rice or egg noodles
Recipe Notes
For a change roll the ground beef mixture into about 30 meatballs. Brown the meatballs in a skillet or multi cooker, and continue with the recipe.
