Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 36 solid milk chocolate kisses
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Sift together dry ingredients. Cream together Crisco, peanut butter. Gradually add both sugars. Cream well together. Add egg and vanilla, continue to beat until all incorporated. Gradually add dry ingredients, mix thoroughly.
Shape dough into balls using rounded teaspoon.
Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and top each cookie with a chocolate kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around the edges. Return to oven and bake for 2 to 5 minutes longer or until golden brown. Store flat in container covered with foil.
Makes 3 dozen cookies
