Ingredients

  • 2- 2 1/2

    lb. thick round steak

  • 1/4

    1 cup flour

  • 1

    tsp. salt

  • 1/8

    tsp. pepper

  • 2

    Tbls. oil

  • 1 1/2

    8 oz. cans chopped tomatoes

  • 3

    large onions chopped

  • 1

    stick celery diced

  • 1

    clove garlic minced

  • 1

    Tbls. bottled thick meat sauce ( A-1 sauce)

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees Trim fat off of meat. Combine salt, pepper, and flour. Take half of mixture and pound into meat. Turn over meat and pound remaining mixture into meat. Using Dutch Oven, heat oil; when very hot, brown beef on both sides. Add remaining ingredients. Stir. Cover and place in slow oven of 300 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. The last 1/2 hour uncover and add sauce. Serve hot with French Bread
