l bag baby carrots (can be cut in half for smaller pieces)
small onion, diced
potatoes diced or cubed.
I usually add 1 cup or more of barley - but then I like the barley and for us, the thicker, the better!
Put them all in the crock pot. Add enough water to almost fill the crock pot. Add salt and pepper to taste. The hamhocks usually provide enough salt, so I usually just add the pepper. Turn it on, and go for the day.
