Chocolate Pudding Pie

By

I think it is absolutely ridiculous that I haven’t shared this family favorite “Easy Chocolate Pudding Pie Recipe” with you yet. I have been making this simple delicious pie for over 25 years and my entire family FLIPS OUT when they see it in the fridge. The thing is…it takes literally 5 minutes to make, and isn’t bad for us. How COOL is that? Pun intended.

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made store bought graham cracker crust (I use reduced fat Keebler)
  • 2 boxes (3.9 oz.) instand chocolate pudding (sugar free or regular both work)
  • 2 3/4 cups cold skim milk (2% or whole milk work too)
  • 1 (8 oz.) tub cool whip (I prefer light version)
  • big handful of chocolate chips (optional, but better with)

Preparation

Step 1

Open crust and set aside.
Mix both pudding boxes with cold milk with a whisk or electric mixer until lumps are gone (it shouldn't take long). You will notice it thicken instantly.
Spread pudding in pie crust and spread to edges.
Spread entire tub of cool whip over pudding being careful not to mix them. I like to make "swirls" with spoon so it looks like a fluffy cloud.
Sprinkle chocolate chips all over cool whip and chill pie for 1 hour before serving. I have been known to serve after 30 minutes because it really gets firm quick.
Store leftovers in fridge for 4-5 days.
